Summer is just around the corner, and that means fun, sun, and holidays! To help you find some great Aussie destinations to visit during Summer, we’ve put together a list of 5 great locations that you can take your caravan to. This includes places to cool off at the coast, and in the mountains.

1. QLD: BIG4 Breeze Holiday Park at Bargara
This tropical beachside holiday park is a great location for a summer getaway with the family! It is only a short 20-minute drive north-east of Bundaberg. The Park has great sports, leisure facilities and equipment available, with the Bargara area having great beaches to checkout, lookouts to visit, dive sites, playgrounds, and local attractions.

The Park’s accommodation includes cabins, starting from $117 per night, and caravan and camping sites. An unpowered site starts from $30 per night, and a powered site from $41 per night. Pets are allowed at the caravan and camping sites only.

2. NSW: Evans Head Holiday Park
This beachside, holiday park location is a great area for the family to relax in summer! It’s about a 30-minute drive south of Ballina, and over 2-hours from Brisbane. The Park has beautiful water views and is a short walk to the main beach. There are many things to do, including kayaking, paddling, fishing, surfing, walking, visiting national parks, and checking out the local attractions.

The Park’s accommodation includes cabins, powered sites, and unpowered sites. Pets are allowed but there are some exclusions – check the website for more details.

3. QLD: Broken River Camping Area at Eungella National Park
Looking for a bushland getaway? Broken River Buch Camp is located in the Eungella National Park, west of Mackay. The Eungella National Park has rock pools, a variety of walking tracks, lush rainforest, the opportunity for mountain biking, and wildlife sightseeing. There is a chance that you may even spot a platypus!

The Broken River camping area is suitable tent camping next to your car, medium-sized caravans, camper trailers, and small motorhomes. Pets are not permitted.

4. NSW: Diamond Head Campground at Crowdy Bay National Park
This is a popular beachside campground to stay at in Crowdy Bay National Park! It’s an easy 45-minute drive south of Port Macquarie, and there are plenty of things to do in the area, including birdwatching, canoeing, paddling, surfing, and fishing. There are also walking tracks, like the Mermaid Lookout Track that showcases beautiful views, and the Metcalfes Walking Track which is family friendly and has the chance for you to spot a Koala!

The camping types include tent, camper trailers, caravans, and camping beside your vehicle. There is a small park entry fee of $8 per vehicle per day, and also make note that there are no powered sites available and no pets allowed.

5. VIC: Mt Buffalo Caravan Park
This caravan park is located in Porepunkah. It is situated in open parkland and is next to the Ovens and Buckland Rivers. The area has lots of things to see and do, like gold panning, swimming, trout fishing, canoeing, and bike riding. It is also just a 35-minute drive to Lake Catani, and close to the Buffalo Mountain National Park.

The Park’s accommodation includes cabins, from $120 per night, along with powered camping sites and non-powered camping sites from $40 per night and $35 per night respectively. Some of these areas have river frontage views!
